My First Project

After so many years of trying to knit or crochet, I think I have finally made some headway. Since I was a small child, my mother used to try and teach me over and over again. My work always came out too tight or uneven, but I never gave up. Year after year I continued to try and get the hang of it but to no avail. Many years later I met a lovely woman on my favorite game site. She was an avid crocheter and knitter. I told her all about my plight, and she was fast to jump in to help me. Via email she sent me tons of self help crochet book instructions and links to free online videos. She also had me purchase the Knit around looms for a quick fix. From those looms I made my first hat, and I was hooked. It wasn't long before I got the hang of knitting with needles with crocheting not far behind. My childhood dream was finally a reality. I'm currently working on a chicken potholder and a granny square afghan for my youngest daughter Jen. So far so good. Both are coming out beautiful. As my work progresses, I'll post some pictures so you can see my progress.
